Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju

The Modi government today has a test on Waqf in Parliament. Starting a discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha today, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that there is no plan to intervene in any religious work of the Waqf Board in this bill. He further said that the Waqf Board had also submitted its claim on Delhi’s Airport and Vasant Vihar. If you do not bring the bill, Parliament would also have the property of Waqf. We will not tease the management of any mosque.

‘Waqf also claimed on Parliament building’

Rijiju, while referring to some old documents during his speech, said that Waqf also claimed the building of Parliament. Opposition was objected by the opposition. Rijiju said that I am saying on the basis of documents. Rijiju said that if the UPA government was constant, then these people would not know how many properties would have been given to Waqf.

‘No provision for intervention in religious activities in Waqf Bill’

When Rijiju said that we are not going to intervene in the operation of any mosque, then someone commented on behalf of the opposition. Speaker Om Birla interrupted and advised that he is sitting in the Parliament of India, take care of dignity. No person has the right to comment while sitting. Kiren Rijiju further said that this is not a case related to mosque or religious activities. This is just a subject related to the management of a property. If a Muslim gives zakat, then who are we who ask him. We are just talking related to his management. It has nothing to do with the religious system.

What did Ravi Shankar Prasad say?

Taking forward the discussion, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on behalf of the ruling party said that if he comes from Bihar, a large number of poor Muslims live there. The government has brought this bill for their welfare. This will lead to welfare of poor Muslims.

He said, “I do not understand what the opposition’s friends want to say?” The Waqf Bill should be amended or not .. How will both arguments go? Section 15 is in the fundamental right to the Constitution of India, which states that there will be no distinction with women and if the government is bringing laws for the rights of women in the new bill, then how did this step of the government become non -constitutional? ”Prasad said on showing the red book of Congress Constitution that today I will show you the ‘green book’ of the Constitution, which is kept in Parliament.

Please tell that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju put the bill on the floor of the House, after which the bill is going on. Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader from Congress towards the opposition, will start this discussion. The Congress is objecting to this bill, while the BJP is calling this bill a historical change.

How much time did you get for discussion?

Speaker Om Birla has fixed 8 hours to discuss the bill, out of which NDA has been given 4 hours 40 minutes. Opposition has got the remaining 3 hours 20 minutes. However, the opposition has sought 12 hours for discussion. On this, Rijiju says that the time of discussion can be extended.
