New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has clearly threatened that if the Waqf Bill is brought, it will launch a nationwide agitation against it. Delhi President Dr. Shoaib Jamai, AIMIM, wrote on social media- If the Waqf Bill was forcibly tried to impose on Muslims, there will be a nationwide movement and will start it from Delhi. “The last time the movement ended from where it ended”. We will exercise our democratic rights and will not tolerate attack on the rights given to minorities in the constitution.

Bill will be introduced in Lok Sabha today

Let us know that there will be discussion in the Lok Sabha today to pass the Waqf Amendment Bill. While the ruling party is trying to pass this bill, the opposition parties are trying to surround the government regarding this bill. Opposition parties say that they will try to stop this bill from passing. Eight-eight hours have been allocated to discuss the proposed law in both houses. The four biggest components after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)- Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janata Dal-United (JDU), Shiv Sena and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)- have asked their MPs to support the government’s stance.

Government will answer every argument: Rijiju

Union Minority and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters that the government is ready to respond to every argument of the opposition. We have come with full preparation. Earlier yesterday, in the meeting of the House’s Working Committee (BAC) under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla yesterday, it was agreed to discuss this bill for eight hours, which can be increased and extended according to the spirit of the House. In the meeting, initial signs of sharp dispute between the ruling and the opposition were seen in the meeting when members of the opposition coalition ‘India’ walked out of the meeting and accused the government of suppressing their voice. However, the deadlock on this issue does not seem to make any difference as the ruling BJP -led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha is numberable.

Bill brought to control religious rights: Owaisi

AIMIM member of the bill Asaduddin Owaisi told reporters that he would explain how it is ‘unconstitutional’ during the discussion on this bill in the House. He alleged that the bill has been brought for the purpose of controlling the religious rights of Muslims and the public will teach a lesson to BJP allies like TDP and JD (U). The NDA has 293 MPs out of 542 members in the Lok Sabha and the BJP has been successful in gaining the support of some independent members on several occasions.

While presenting the bill last year, the government proposed to send it to a joint committee of both houses. After the report was submitted by the committee, the Union Cabinet approved some changes in the original bill based on its recommendation. In the meeting of the Working Committee, the Opposition demanded allotment of 12 hours to discuss the bill, while the government insisted on keeping less time so that other legislative functioning could be dealt with.
